Updating Firmware 1.1 to 2.1 on MacPro 2006
- Obtain the Firmware Update Tool. HERE
- Baja la actualización de Firmware HERE
- Mount the DMG.
- Usa la herramienta de actualización para crear el “RAM DISK” y evitar el error 5530
- Inside the update tool's content, in the internal folder /Contents/Resources, locate the following scripts and copy them to the RAM DISK:
- ExtractAndPatchEFIFiles.sh
- UpgradeEFI2006-2007.sh
- DowngradeEFI2007-2006.sh
- MacProEFIUpdater2006.patch
- MacProEFIUpdater2007.patch
- Edit the ExtractAndPatchEFIFiles.sh file using your preferred text editor.
- Delete the following lines:
- hdiutil attach -nobrowse MacProEFI2006and2007.dmg
- rm -R Expanded
- rm -R System
- rm Payload
- Save the script.
- Run it using: ./ExtractAndPatchEFIFiles.sh
- Run the update script with: sudo ./UpgradeEFI2006-2007.sh
- If it doesn't give you any issues, simply complete the update.
- Turn off the MacPro.
- Press the power button and hold it down until it starts blinking.
- Wait for the update to finish.
- Check the firmware version.
- Restart the computer to properly detect the CPUs.
